Holtz Center Directors
Joan Fujimura (2002 – 2005)
Joan Fujimura is a Professor in the Department of Sociology and Program in Science and Technology Studies. She served as the first director of the Holtz Center, and is the Cluster Coordinator for the faculty cluster in Science and Technology Studies at UW–Madison. Fujimura also serves on the Steering Committee of the Holtz Center.
Linda Hogle
(2005 – 2007)
Linda Hogle is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical History and Bioethics, and by courtesy in the Department of Anthropology. In addition to being a Holtz Center faculty affiliate, she is also an affiliate of the Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, the Cardiovascular Research Center, and the Neuroscience and Public Policy Program. Hogle is a member of the faculty cluster in Regenerative Medicine.
Daniel Kleinman
(2007 – 2010)
Daniel Kleinman is a Professor in the Department of Community and Environmental Sociology, where he is also currently serving as Chair. Kleinman is the current director of the Holtz Center.
