Become a Member

Help us strengthen STS scholarship at UW-Madison by becoming a member of the Holtz Center! The Holtz Center brings together University of Wisconsin faculty and academic staff who have scholarly interests in science and technology as human institutions situated in wider historical, social, and political contexts. We seek members from every part of the university, including humanists, social scientists, natural scientists, engineers, and clinicians.

Being a member requires little, but offers much. You will be connected with dozens of faculty and academic staff doing work in science and technology studies. You and your students will also receive notice of grants and fellowships funded by the Holtz Center’s endowment. But most importantly, you will join a growing intellectual community of scholars who reach across the traditional barriers separating the sciences, social sciences, and humanities.

Center membership is open to all faculty and academic staff who can demonstrate an intellectual or pedagogical commitment to STS through teaching, research or service. To apply for membership, simply forward your CV to Associate Director Sainath Suryanarayanan for consideration by the Steering Committee, with a brief explanation of your connection to STS in the email.
