After graduating with her bachelor’s degree in Biology from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017, Kole Binger joined the Social Media and Adolescent Health Research Team (SMAHRT), led by Dr. Megan Moreno. As an Associate Research Specialist in the Department of Pediatrics, Binger is currently working on two projects – one focusing on a potential alcohol intervention, based on social media behavior. The other is a project utilizing content analysis of marijuana business’ social media advertisement. Kole is particularly interested in problematic drinking behavior and social media use in adolescents; with an emphasis on how we can utilize social media and technology to improve communication and health care provided to adolescents.
Binger joined the Holtz Center to work alongside other faculty and staff working in the Science and Technology field. She hopes to learn from her colleagues in the center and collaborate with others to improve her understanding of the science field and the direction of her current research efforts.
