The Department of Women’s Studies at San Diego State University invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track position
Feminist Science and Technology Studies
Inviting applications from scholars with a research concentration in feminist science studies foregrounding an intersectional approach between women’s, gender, and sexuality studies and science and technology studies. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in a related field. A minimum of a graduate minor or concentration in Women’s Studies, or a significant track record of research and teaching in Women’s Studies, is required. An M.S. in a STEM field is preferred. Areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to: critique of masculinist scientific models, epistemologies, and methodologies; critical analyses of nature, naturalization, and the materiality and biology of sex, gender, and sexuality as intersecting with race, class, ability, and nation; health (reproductive; HIV/AIDS; mental health; disabilities); environmental studies (including environmental racism) and sustainability; trans-species and animal studies. We are particularly interested in scholars who work from a disability studies and/or queer studies approach.
