Holtz Center brings midwestern hospitality to 4S 2019

More than 20 sessions at this year’s meeting of the Society for the Social Studies of Science (4S) featured the work of faculty, staff and students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The four day event took place in New Orleans on September 4-7. Holtz Center steering committee member, Professor Joan Fujimura, officially took up the reins of 4S— as she will serve as the society’s president for the next two years.

The Holtz Center’s reception on Thursday evening brought together over 30 members, students, alumni and friends for cheese and other delicious treats at the St. James Cheese Company. The reception was well-received and a unique opportunity for colleagues to mingle and network in an informal setting. The reception was “Midwestern hospitality and conviviality at its best.”.
