iSchool’s Ni joins Holtz Center

iSchool’s Chaoqun Ni recently joined the UW-Madison community last fall, after serving on the faculty at the University of Iowa. Upon her arrival as an Assistant Professor in Madison, she opted to begin networking and joined several of her Information School colleagues interested in science and technology studies. Ni applied to become a member of the Holtz Center to collaborate with other STS professionals on campus.

“I am fascinated by the research done at the Holtz Center”, Ni shares. “And I also think (that) my areas of research will bring new additions to the Center.”

Ni studies science, scholarship, and the scientific workplace using massive data to inform decision-makings regarding science policies. Her instruction relates to the areas of information technology, database management, statistical data analysis, data interoperability, information visualization, and research methods. She is currently working on projects regarding gender disparity issues in the scientific workplace.
