STS + Rhetoric: Making Worlds with Fish
In this talk, Dr. Druschke explores the intersections of science and technology studies with rhetorical studies through her ongoing work with river herring, brook trout, dams, and humans in Rhode Island and Wisconsin. Adopting an ecological orientation to rhetoric, from the inside of both science and activism, Druschke’s rhetorical and biological field work encourages dynamic, fleeting, and creative trans-species alliances. Through that work, she offers a speculative vision for rhetorical studies that orients the discipline toward playful and consequential engagements with a more expansive array of co-creators.
