Visual art emerges as a popular tool for science communication, transcending the boundaries between scientific inquiry and aesthetic expression to convey intricate objects, concepts, and data to diverse audiences. In this talk, I will discuss the roles of artistic representations in shaping individuals’ emotions and cognitive responses to scientific information. Beyond exploring the potentially transformative role of artistic depictions on public engagement with science, especially within the current visually oriented information landscape, I will also discuss the nuanced considerations and prospective best practices when it comes to art-science collaboration.
