Andrea Harris

Andrea Harris is the author of Making Ballet American: Modernism Before and Beyond Balanchine (Oxford University Press, 2017), named a 2018 CHOICE Outstanding Academic Title. Her current book explores the influence of advances in nineteenth-century physiology and psychology on early modern dance. She is an Associate Professor in the Dance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a current Senior Fellow at the UW-Madison Institute for Research in the Humanities. Her performance credits include Li Chiao-Ping Dance and the Martha Graham Dance Company.
