Maddy Kroot

My work broadly draws on political ecology, energy studies, STS, and critical infrastructure studies to consider questions of social acceptance, public participation, and the politics of expertise around electricity infrastructure in the US and Canada. I’m particularly interested in the ways in which the urgency of the climate crisis, coupled with the sociotechnical complexity of the electricity grid, shape debates over public interest in electricity policy.
