Artificial Intelligence is first and foremost an Artificial Imagination. This is the central intuition of my new book project devoted to an analysis of communication in the age of AI. Instead of fearing AI, it’s time to rethink the power of human imagination. When detached from any immediate goal, the human imagination becomes surprising, unpredictable. This imagination can help us escape the predictability that AI seeks, fight against the social and racial prejudices it reproduces, and lead to communication that is more open to otherness.
